As holiday lights begin to mirror the glow of Dublin’s canals, La Peniche invites you aboard for one of the city’s most magical seasonal experiences. This Christmas, we’re weaving together festive dining, canal views, and exclusive private hire options to make your winter celebrations truly unforgettable. Festive Dining Cruises (Up to December 23rd)

Before the Christmas rush, La Peniche’s famous dining cruises sail as normal. Each cruise features the signature three-course seasonal menu, gliding through Dublin’s historic canal route. You’ll drift beneath 18th century bridges, pass through hand-cranked locks, and savor a meal crafted with care along the way.

  • Lunch cruises depart from 1:30 pm

  • Dinner cruises depart from 5:30 pm, with flexibility for group bookings

  • Cruise time: 1 to 1½ hours, weather and scheduling permitting

  • Pricing: Lunch from €40–€45, dinner from €46–€50 per person

These cruises are ideal for seasonal dinners with family, festive friends’ nights out, or memorable office parties. Want full control? La Peniche is available for exclusive hire too — see the Exclusive Hire page for group bookings and private events.

🌟 Christmas Eve & Christmas Day | Sit-Down Celebrations

While the barge does not cruise on 24th or 25th December, we open the vessel for sit-down festive meals in a cozy, candlelit setting. It’s a rare opportunity to enjoy Christmas aboard Dublin’s most charming floating restaurant.

  • Seating times begin at 12:30 pm, 3:30 pm, and 6:30 pm

  • Christmas Eve menu: €75 per person (3 courses, bread & butter included)

  • Christmas Day menu: €98 per person (3 courses, bread & butter included)

  • A €25 deposit per person is required to book; the remaining balance is payable in cash on the day

  • No refunds or rescheduling permitted

🎁 Exclusive Hire & Larger Bookings

For groups, teams, or special gatherings, you don’t need to wait until December. La Peniche is open for exclusive hire in December (prior to the 24th) and beyond. Whether you're organizing a holiday party, birthday, work do or simply want the barge to yourself, we’ll tailor the experience for up to 60 guests.

Visit the Exclusive Hire page for more details on booking, menu options, and availability.

What a lovely and heartwarming read! Christmas really does have a way of sneaking up on us, doesn't it? One minute it's summer, and the next the festive decorations are everywhere and the to-do list feels never-ending. As someone juggling multiple responsibilities — from work deadlines to family preparations — the holiday season can feel both magical and overwhelming at the same time. I actually find that the same focus I apply to academic tasks (I recently used a SPSS Assignment Editing Service UK to polish a research project before the holidays) helps me stay organised during the Christmas rush too. Breaking big tasks into smaller steps, setting realistic timelines, and not leaving everything to the last minute makes such…

Reading the post on La Peniche about Christmas coming, I liked how it highlights the calm canal-side atmosphere in Dublin and the way the venue starts preparing for festive evenings, warm lights and seasonal gatherings together. I also found myself thinking about how students sometimes look for academic support during busy holiday periods, where services like New Assignment Help are casually mentioned in discussions, alongside resources such as Help with Assignment Australia, especially when managing deadlines and coursework stress around the festive season in a balanced and practical way today for many learners. Nice post

The holiday feeling in this post really brought back memories of how busy things get near Christmas. During my final semester, I relied on assignment help while balancing family events and deadlines at the same time. It helped me stay calm and enjoy small moments with friends instead of stressing every night. Posts like this remind me that slowing down and enjoying the season really matters.

The way the article captures the atmosphere of Christmas approaching really stood out, especially the focus on how places start transforming socially as much as visually during the season. There’s something interesting about how even simple mentions of gatherings, decorations, or seasonal preparations immediately create a sense of anticipation and nostalgia, regardless of how busy people are during that time of year.

It also made me think about how the holiday season tends to bring both excitement and pressure at the same time, since people are usually balancing celebrations with work, travel, and everyday responsibilities all at once. I wonder if most people actually get the chance to slow down and enjoy the atmosphere properly, or if the season passes…
